My name is Rich Suthard. Up until September 2000, I called Fremont California my home. I've since moved to the city of Gladstone, Oregon. I'm a graduate of Western State College (Colorado), (BA Biology, 1983). and work for the Oregon State Police.
Most of my early fishing experiences involved fly fishing for trout in the Colorado backcountry. I tied my own flies, and hiked for miles to catch beautiful cutthroats. In 1986, I moved to California and began to fish primarily for stripers, salmon, steelhead, shad, and surfperch. Since moving to Oregon, I've fished almost entirely for surfperch.

Your probably wondering why I have the nickname fishit? It all started when I got my first computer (April 97'). I wanted a unique handle for my first ever sign-on name with AOL. Because AOL is so huge, all the good "fish" names were taken - I didn't care too much for their suggestion of something like 45suthar. Well, I finally found one that wasn't taken - fishit. The only problem was that AOL wouldn't allow it. It just so happens that it contained a series of four letters, which, if written seperately, could be found to be offensive. Being the rebellious type that I am (haha), I vowed that if I ever got another ISP, and it would be soon, it would be the first name I would ask for. What an intoduction to the www, and the BS of AOL! I've had many ISP's since, and have yet to have the same difficulties as I did with AOL.
The young fishermen seen at the right of this page is Jeffrey Morris, my nephew, displaying a monster smallmouth bass that he caught last year (Summer 1998), at Lake McConaughy, Nebraska. The fish fell for a live crayfish fished off the shore.
